tribute to him.

getting inspiration on a movie could be childish and foolish, well whatever u say, here it goes anyway. I read about the story of a young artist shot dead back in the 90's, at the funeral they drove him around his old neighborhood, one last time. thousands of people attended the sad event, some danced on his rhymes, somebody cried, others just stood there because at times it maters just showing up, but together they were there for him.
I I documented myself and I've seen videos illustrating this Youngster's last ride through the hood, than I saw the funeral of an italian actor died of old age, millions of people attended that funeral too. different country same deal, there was people crying, there was people singing, and others just stood there, all for him.
my dad past when I was 21 he was 64. I don't have that much of recollection of the function it's mostly a sad dream that at times I forget it's true. what I do remember is is the steps before that. we stopped by his work place and people I have never seen come to me, hugging me and my brother. Some of them were crying all of them said " I'm sorry he was a really good man", I was shocked. next step was going to say a final good bye to that house he worked so hard for.
eveyone that lived around us was there, they weren't millions, they weren't thousands, but the tears were countless, I wasn't shocked this time, I was proud... proud of my old man. that could touch so deeply every single on of them by just beeing himself. the next step was the function, and as I said it's all a big blur. to the church. finally I walked outside and the whole town was out, everyone was crying in that square, all for my old man. I live my life to be that man, to be that man that with no song, or movie, or major event was able to be loved admired, and trusted, I mean isn't that what we live for?
my dad woke me up in my dreams last night, no words just a smile, maybe that was his talent, his song his movie `

  1. Giancarlo,

Your words are very beautiful. Renato was a genuine human being who touched many lives by his goodness, his generosity, and his hard work. It was a privilege to know him and to be his friend.
